A Holiday Mash-Up

Happy holidays! We’re closing out 2020 with a mash up of some of our favorite things from the last chaotic year. Clothes, books, movies, food, hot tips, and what feels like way more abound. Plus our friendship goes through some highs and lows in this episode where we decide that maybe we’re not actually compatible. Time will tell.

We’ll be back in early 2021, but until then, make sure to catch up on all the episodes you haven’t heard or re-visit old faves!

Have you checked out our website? That’s where you can find our latest posts. What are your thoughts on this week’s episode? Let us know over on Instagram @agoodideapod, or you can shoot us an email at hello@goodideagirls.com.

It Sounded Like A Good Idea At The Time

What have I learned about myself? Nothing good.

Guess who’s back?? (If you immediately thought of Eminem, we won’t blame you.)

It’s been a long break and we’ve missed you! What a crazy few months it’s been. Some of us are thriving, and some of us…well not so much. We’ll let you listen in to see which is which, if you haven’t already guessed.

We’ve got Zoloft and Diet Dr. Pepper a-plenty and we’re ready to hit the ground running with season 2. We hope you’re ready for more good-turned-bad ideas!

I listen at 1.75, with Heather Garfield

We’re sitting down with our friend and chief medical correspondent of the pod Heather Garfield to talk about when relationships go awry, the signs that shouldn’t be ignored, and what friends and family on the outside looking in can do to help. You can hear more from Heather on Instagram @healthy.happy.heatherg.

You’re doing enough

Happy Wednesday! It’s mid-February, and we thought we’d just sit down and check in. How’s it going? January was tough! And sometimes you need to air it out with your girlfriends.

We’re touching on the NBA All-Star weekend, the Primaries, our bff’s over at Mattel (and their future on the big screen) and more. So tune in and relax and as always, let us know what you think.

I hope this email finds you well

Caroline came prepared with a host of topics to discuss at the outset of our episode today, and you know one of them is Harry and Meghan. And then we’re getting into arguments! With each other, with our significant others, with everyone! We’re talking about how we move past the little things, the big things, and all the things in between.

Stay exactly where you were

Happy New Year! We’re back with new content and new … anti-resolutions? But not before we get into our hot takes from the Golden Globes.

Rerun: Bloom where you’re planted

We’re on a winter break, so we’re bringing you a few of our older faves while we spend some time getting ready for the new year! We hope you’re enjoying your holidays and that you’ll tune in for new episodes in January 2020!

Ever wonder what house plants have to do with staying present and enjoying the “now,” while also looking to the future? Well, we didn’t. But we got there anyway. Right after a talk about how women, and especially female creatives, are coming into their own and refusing to let their work be controlled without their consent.

Guerrilla attacks of social hangouts

It’s almost the end of the year and we’re kicking off a conversation about the complicated emotions that can occur over the holidays, and as always, we start at one place and end somewhere that we never saw coming. Hang with us on this one folks.

We’re taking a break for the next few weeks to regroup and spend time with our families over the holidays, but we’ll be dropping a few of our favorite past episodes for those of you who plan to tune in! This is your time to catch up if you’ve been behind and, as always, give us your input.

An altar to diet culture

We’re kicking off today’s episode by talking about some celebrities making hard calls and refusing to keep silent, and we’re continuously inspired by the example of women who do the hard but necessary work all the time, both in the spotlight and out of it.

We’re also talking about diet culture and the way it affects our holiday celebrations. As always, we love to start conversations. Does any of this hit home with you?

I don’t have any sort of high horse here

Black Friday! Can you believe it’s around the corner? It seems like it rushed up on us, and now that it’s here we’re digging into the concept, the ethics, the shopping, and the struggle. You’ll hear why one of our absolute fave beauty brands is The Ordinary, and you’ll also find out which books we recommend to better understand poverty.

AND, you’ll hear us talk about Prince Andrew. How could we not??
