It Sounded Like A Good Idea At The Time

What have I learned about myself? Nothing good.

Guess who’s back?? (If you immediately thought of Eminem, we won’t blame you.)

It’s been a long break and we’ve missed you! What a crazy few months it’s been. Some of us are thriving, and some of us…well not so much. We’ll let you listen in to see which is which, if you haven’t already guessed.

We’ve got Zoloft and Diet Dr. Pepper a-plenty and we’re ready to hit the ground running with season 2. We hope you’re ready for more good-turned-bad ideas!

Have you checked out our website? You can check it out to see our latest posts. What are your thoughts on this week’s episode? Let us know over on Instagram @agoodideapod, or you can shoot us an email at hello@goodideagirls.com.

How do you improve your relationship with food?

Did you know that one state currently has a history-making majority female state assembly? And that North Carolina’s governor is doing some pretty great things for women? And that Countess Luann has a cabaret show?

It’s all on the docket today, and then we’re talking about our relationships with food and alcohol. Are they healthy? Are we happy? We asked you to weigh in, and we’re breaking it all down PLUS one of us is getting insulted, pretty regularly, by the other. We’ll let you figure out which is which.

Hannah was talking about a few IG accounts for that push body positivity. What are they?

Control is an illusion, with Jen Eddins

We love celebrating women. Was that not clear? This week, we’re chatting with Jen Eddins from Peanut Butter Runner about a host of issues, including women’s health and what to do when life doesn’t turn out like you had planned. We love the insight she brings to the table, and she may hold the record for the best “it sounded like a good idea at the time” segment on our show thus far.

You can find Jen on Instagram @jen_pbrunner, or on her website: peanutbutterrunner.com

What was that article Caroline was talking about? Something about “busy” being the same thing as “lazy”?
You can find the full article here. We like talking about the balance between pursuing your goals and being busy just for the sake of the hustle, so this is always a hot topic for the Good Idea crowd.

Make sure to visit our friends over at EssentialiHome to grab some elderberry syrup, and use the code “good idea” (two words) for 15% off your order.

We Got the Millenials Now!

In this episode, Hannah gets fired up about like 10 different things and Caroline admits still more legal foibles. Plus, Andy Cohen’s baby shower, and who Caroline sides with on the Prince Phillip hitting someone with his car drama! (Hannah may need a good attorney soon if anyone wants to shoot over a good contact.) We’re also talking which fashion trends we love and what we’re hoping to see next, and we know that you came here for the style tips.

We’re kicking off the month of LUUUVVV by talking about how we love ourselves by putting in place the boundaries we need to live our best lives. And this goes without saying but we are both professionals with nothing left to learn in this arena.

As always, thanks for joining us and make sure to let us know what you think on Instagram @agoodideapod!

Things we Forgot to Say 2k18

Today we’re talking about why we’ll never fall for a “bring your kids to meet Santa, Elsa, and Anna” event again and if that makes us boring moms, we are OK with it!

We’ve had a great few months kicking off our podcast and we have some notes on our first episodes to continue the conversation. And we want to hear from you! What was your favorite episode of 2018? Head on over to our IG @agoodideapod and let us know!

Things we talked about this episode:

Where can I find that Vox youtube video about the Wild Wild Country cult? Check it out here!

What was Hannah saying about Facebook? Oh- no big deal but they filed a patent to guess where you’re going next.

Other notes: Kwanzaa does in fact begin December 26th and ends January 1st. Happy Kwanzaa to all who celebrate!

Strangers Don’t Talk To Me

It’s almost Christmas, and we’re here to talk about Santa, elf on the shelf, people asking us about our library books, and people refusing to talk to us at all.

Other critical issues:
Why is there no Crazy Rich Asians: India Edition yet Kevin Kwan??
Tinder Founder: we may be mad at you, assuming you are who we think you are. Unless you want to advertise with us.
And the real topic on our minds today: self care. How do you practice this? We scratch the surface in this conversation but we want to hear from you!

Here’s more info if you want to deep dive into anything we talked about today:

Where did you find good info for self-care?
We liked this one from Forbes and this other one with info on good ways to cultivate self-care habits.

Did you guys say Beyonce performed at an Indian pre-wedding party? Yep, sure did.

And what IG account brought this up and discussed appropriation vs. appreciation? That would be one of our faves @tinted.
