It Sounded Like A Good Idea At The Time

What have I learned about myself? Nothing good.

Guess who’s back?? (If you immediately thought of Eminem, we won’t blame you.)

It’s been a long break and we’ve missed you! What a crazy few months it’s been. Some of us are thriving, and some of us…well not so much. We’ll let you listen in to see which is which, if you haven’t already guessed.

We’ve got Zoloft and Diet Dr. Pepper a-plenty and we’re ready to hit the ground running with season 2. We hope you’re ready for more good-turned-bad ideas!

Start with shame, then do checking in

We’re checking in with the feels today as most of us are knee deep in social distancing and really missing out on friendships and communication. But we’re not spending a lot of time on coronavirus today because 1) we don’t want to and 2) we have bigger fish to fry! Maybe you heard a little story about one Taylor Swift?

If you’d like to give your mind a break and decompress with some good things instead of the news. Current events are important, but so are boundaries. Head over here and subscribe to get a list of good things to scroll through in your inbox once a week.

We have a brand new website! You can check it out to see previous episodes and catch up with our latest posts. What are your thoughts on this week’s episode? Let us know over on Instagram @agoodideapod, or you can shoot us an email at hello@goodideagirls.com.

You won’t believe the ending

We’re here to lighten the mood, friends. It’s been a rough 800 years this week, and we heard you when you said you wanted to think about anything other than a virus. So plug in your earbuds and take your mind off of it for a bit!

Here’s the article we talked about regarding Lady Gaga’s new boyfriend.

You’re doing enough

Happy Wednesday! It’s mid-February, and we thought we’d just sit down and check in. How’s it going? January was tough! And sometimes you need to air it out with your girlfriends.

We’re touching on the NBA All-Star weekend, the Primaries, our bff’s over at Mattel (and their future on the big screen) and more. So tune in and relax and as always, let us know what you think.

I hope this email finds you well

Caroline came prepared with a host of topics to discuss at the outset of our episode today, and you know one of them is Harry and Meghan. And then we’re getting into arguments! With each other, with our significant others, with everyone! We’re talking about how we move past the little things, the big things, and all the things in between.

Rerun: That’s really good advice on my part

We’re on a winter break, so we’re bringing you a few of our older faves while we spend some time getting ready for the new year! We hope you’re enjoying your holidays and that you’ll tune in for new episodes in January 2020!

If you’ve been awake at any time in the last few years, then you know that burnout is a very real thing. But what does burnout specifically look like for women? We have some thoughts, and some of us may be realizing that it’s time to take further steps in getting a hold of our mental health. We hope you feel seen in this episode, and would love to know how you feel about burnout.

And of course, we’re hitting on some hot topics in the world of women!

Where can I find the article that started this conversation?
Check it out here!

Ever wonder what house plants have to do with staying present and enjoying the “now,” while also looking to the future? Well, we didn’t. But we got there anyway. Right after a talk about how women, and especially female creatives, are coming into their own and refusing to let their work be controlled without their consent.

If you’re anything like us, you scroll news reports reading only the headlines and spend copious amounts of time digesting the latest happenings of the entertainment world. And *maybe* you have the occasional conversation about how to raise moderately good human beings.

We’re talking today about how to raise inclusive kids, and we’re adding your advice to the convo! Some things we do and some things we need to start doing are all on the table, and we’re also touching on how we as adults can model behavior for these little people (both in good and bad ways.)

But first, the Emmy’s, do shows stand the test of time, and a little talk about poverty and homelessness to whet our appetites for a discussion about raising inclusive kids! Naturally.

Guerrilla attacks of social hangouts

It’s almost the end of the year and we’re kicking off a conversation about the complicated emotions that can occur over the holidays, and as always, we start at one place and end somewhere that we never saw coming. Hang with us on this one folks.

We’re taking a break for the next few weeks to regroup and spend time with our families over the holidays, but we’ll be dropping a few of our favorite past episodes for those of you who plan to tune in! This is your time to catch up if you’ve been behind and, as always, give us your input.

An altar to diet culture

We’re kicking off today’s episode by talking about some celebrities making hard calls and refusing to keep silent, and we’re continuously inspired by the example of women who do the hard but necessary work all the time, both in the spotlight and out of it.

We’re also talking about diet culture and the way it affects our holiday celebrations. As always, we love to start conversations. Does any of this hit home with you?
