Control is an illusion, with Jen Eddins

We love celebrating women. Was that not clear? This week, we’re chatting with Jen Eddins from Peanut Butter Runner about a host of issues, including women’s health and what to do when life doesn’t turn out like you had planned. We love the insight she brings to the table, and she may hold the record for the best “it sounded like a good idea at the time” segment on our show thus far.

You can find Jen on Instagram @jen_pbrunner, or on her website: peanutbutterrunner.com

What was that article Caroline was talking about? Something about “busy” being the same thing as “lazy”?
You can find the full article here. We like talking about the balance between pursuing your goals and being busy just for the sake of the hustle, so this is always a hot topic for the Good Idea crowd.

Make sure to visit our friends over at EssentialiHome to grab some elderberry syrup, and use the code “good idea” (two words) for 15% off your order.

I “have it all”, but I don’t have it all together

We’re carrying on with our women’s month theme (or should we say life-long theme?) of digging into the stories of us. Today, we’re getting deep into Caroline’s life! Hannah thought it would be good to figure out some of where it all started with Caroline’s career, and how she feels about her choices.

And because we’re nothing if not basic, the Bachelor comes up at least once during this episode. Will you be surprised about where we each stand on this show? Probably not.

Hannah talks about a great book she just read, and that book is The Love and Lies of Rukhsana Ali by Sabina Khan. Do you think Hannah’s finally mastered the art of summarizing?

We get into some interesting topics, and Caroline brings up this article (Caroline hates the click-bait title, Hannah loves it) which makes a compelling argument for more equality in the home. Make sure to check it out!

And if you haven’t yet, visit our friend Alison over at Essentiali Home and stock up on elderberry syrup to keep the nasties at bay. Use the code “good idea” (two words) for 15% off your purchase!

We Got the Millenials Now!

In this episode, Hannah gets fired up about like 10 different things and Caroline admits still more legal foibles. Plus, Andy Cohen’s baby shower, and who Caroline sides with on the Prince Phillip hitting someone with his car drama! (Hannah may need a good attorney soon if anyone wants to shoot over a good contact.) We’re also talking which fashion trends we love and what we’re hoping to see next, and we know that you came here for the style tips.

We’re kicking off the month of LUUUVVV by talking about how we love ourselves by putting in place the boundaries we need to live our best lives. And this goes without saying but we are both professionals with nothing left to learn in this arena.

As always, thanks for joining us and make sure to let us know what you think on Instagram @agoodideapod!

It’s like when you go to adopt a new puppy, with April Robson

Drumrollllllllll because we have our first ever guest on the show today! April Robson from @smidgeofthis and @charlottesjoy graces us with her presence as we get deep into the ups and downs of making friends as bonafide grown-ups. You can decide which of your two favorite podcast hosts, if any, you’d like to hit up for some light friendship-level stalking. Here’s some of the stuff we mention: What was that IG where some anonymous angel shows what she’s bought and liked? That was, oddly enough, @things.i.bought.and.liked over on Instagram! Thanks to April bringing this up (apparently Caroline has been holding out on us), Hannah recently discovered her newest fave IG follow. What podcast was Hannah raving about? That was Caliphate, produced by the New York Times and featuring Rukmini Callimachi. I promise this will enthrall you! You can check out our website over here to see previous episodes! a good idea pod

Let’s Do This!

It Sounded Like a Good Idea at the Time…

To start a podcast while we raise a gaggle of small children and try to succeed professionally plus keep an active gym routine!

We’re Caroline and Hannah, and we want to chat! We’re bringing our deep-dive conversations about being moms, loving our work, and trying to make it all happen as modern women to the public so we can laugh about our foibles along the way.

We’d love to have you join in the conversation, so find us on Instagram @agoodideapod and share your own stories that sounded like a good idea at the time, but turned out to have a completely different result than you expected. Make sure to use the hashtag #agoodidea so we can find you and share in your joy/pain.

Join us weekly as we aim to bring a little levity to your life. Let’s all get through this thing we call life together!
